Rain likely in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI, SEPT. 12 . Rainfall occurred at most places over coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep, at many places over interior Karnataka and at a few places over Tamil Nadu.

Isolated rainfall occurred over Telangana and Rayalaseema and mainly dry weather prevailed over coastal Andhra Pradesh.

The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cms are:

Agathi Airport 5, Aluva (Ernakulam dt.) 4, Cuddalore, Pondicherry Airport, Cherthala (Alapuzha dt.), Amini Divi and Minicoy 3 each, Vallam (Thanjavur dt.), Pudukottai, Dharmapuri, Gudalur Bazaar (Nilgiris dt.), Kaleshwaram (Karimnagar dt.), Shirali, Karwar, Kochi Airport, CIAL Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Thiruvananthapuram Airport and Varkala (Thiruvananthapuram dt.) 2 each and Paramakudi (Ramanathapuram dt.), Harur (Dharmapuri dt.), Valpari, Thiruchirapalli, Lalgudi (Tiruchirapalli dt.), Kurnool, Karkala (Udupi dt.), Honavar, Jamakhandi (Bagalkote dt.), Bangalore, Madikeri, Pavagada (Tumkur dt.), Kottayam, Kumarkom (Kottayam dt.), Kollam and Punalur 1 each.

WEATHER FORECAST (valid until the morning of 14th September 2004): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over coastal and south interior Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at a few places over Tamilnadu, Pondicherry, north coastal Andhra Pradesh and north interior Karnataka.

Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Rayalaseema.

FORECAST FOR CHENNAI CITY AND NEIGHBOURHOOD (valid until the morning of 14th September 2004): Partly cloudy.

Possibility of shower or thundershower in some areas during evening or night.
