KOTTAYAM, SEPT 12. The 425th anniversary of the St Mary's Orthodox Church (Cheriyapally) was inaugurated by the Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, here today. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Chandy stressed the need to resolve the conflicts in society in a peaceful manner and asked the members of this ancient parish to adapt themselves to the changed social situation than the one prevailed during the founding of the centuries-old church. Baselius Mar Thoma Mathews II, the Catholicos of the East, presided.
