Catholicos inaugurates Bible society meet

PATHANAMTHITTA, SEPT. 12. The Catholicos of the East and Malankara Metropolitan, Baselius Mar Thoma Mathews II, inaugurated the 48th anniversary meet of the Bible Society of India (BSI), Kerala chapter, at Kozhencherry, near here, this afternoon.

The society State president, Thomas Mar Themotheis, presided over the annual meet held at the Kozhencherry St. Thomas Mar Thoma Church.

The society State secretary, Fr. Samuel T. Varghese, the treasurer, Abraham Joseph, and the vice-president, Isaac Mar Phelexinos, T.K.Chandy, the district panchayat president, K.K. Royson, and Fr. P.T. Thomas addressed the function.

Bible exhibition

Earlier, the District Collector, Rabeendra Kumar Agarwal, inaugurated a Bible Exhibition organised by the BSI at the St. Thomas Higher Secondary School in Kozhencherry as part of the anniversary celebrations on Saturday.

The society also organised a Bible rally in Kozhencherry town.
