KOLKATA, SEPT. 12. Narendra Limboo, brother-in-law of the Congress MP from Tezpur, Mani Kumar Subba, was arrested from the latter's house in the Bhaktinagar area of West Bengal's Jalpaiguri district last night in connection with the murder of Mr. Subba's personal assistant. (According to a Delhi report, Jyoti, the wife of Mr. Subba, has also been held.) The body of Milan was found in a farmhouse, belonging to Mr. Subba, at Vasant Kunj in New Delhi on September 9. The Superintendent of Police, Jalpaiguri, Ajay Kumar Nand, said Mr. Limboo was apprehended following a tip-off from the Delhi police that he might be sheltered in the house of Mr. Subba. A team of officials of the Delhi police is in Jalpaiguri and will be escorting Mr. Limboo back to the capital in a day or two. Mr. Limboo was produced at the Jalpaiguri Sadar court today where a requisition for transit remand custody by the Delhi police was granted, Mr. Nand said.

The police are also looking for two of Mr. Subba's security guards, who fled the farmhouse along with Mr. Limboo after the murder. One of the guards' rifles is alleged to have been used to shoot the victim. Mr. Subba, who owns an online lottery firm in Meghalaya, belongs to Sikkim. UNI reports from New Delhi: The Delhi police today arrested Jyoti, the wife of Mr. Subba, for her alleged involvement in the murder. She was arrested for allegedly tampering with evidence and helping the prime accused, Mr. Limboo, her brother, escape after the incident, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-west), Dependra Pathak, said.
