VIJAYAWADA, SEPT.12. NTR University of Health Sciences has issued a notification for the second phase of counselling for admissions in various medical and dental colleges in the State. Accordingly, the second phase of counselling for 195 medical seats and 351 dental seats will be held from September 16 to 22. Of the total 195 seats announced in the medical stream, counselling will be held for 50 seats in Rangaraya Medical College, Kakinada, and 75 in Maharaja Institute of Medical Sciences of Vizianagaram in addition to 75 vacancies in other colleges. In the dental stream, counselling will be held for 75 seats each in St. Joseph Dental College in Eluru and Gitam Dental College of Visakhapatnam and 45 seats in CKS Teja Institute of Dental Sciences & Research, Tirupati, in addition to 156 vacancies in other colleges.
Two sessions
Keeping in view the experiences during the first phase, the university has decided to conduct counselling based on ranks and the process will be held in two sessions -- 8.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. Counselling for the aspirants who secured ranks up to 1,500 will be held on September 16 and up to 3,000 the next day. There will be no counselling on September 18 due to holiday on the occasion of Vinayaka Chaturdhi. The counselling that will resume on September 19 will be held for students securing ranks up to 5,000 followed by those securing ranks up to 9,000 on September 20, up to 18,000 on September 21 and conclude on September 22 when the counselling will be held for students securing up to the last rank.
Fee structure
Informing this at a press conference here on Sunday, the university Vice-Chancellor, R. Sambasiva Rao, said the university would implement the reduced fee structure recommended by the Justice Bayyapu Reddy Committee. "The students who paid excess amount during the first phase can approach the university and collect the additional amount," he said.
