Meet to discuss new pension plan

By Our Special Correspondent

TIRUPATI, SEPT. 12. The State executive of the Andhra Pradesh State Retired Employees Association will meet in Tirupati on October 26 to discuss among other things the new pension scheme and to draw up an action plan to pressure the State and the Central Governments to withdraw the scheme.

V. Jayarama Naidu, president of the joint action committee of the association told a meeting on Saturday that the new pension scheme would serve a deathblow to the pensioners.

The JAC took serious exception to the Governments not taking the pensioners association at the national and State-level into confidence before announcing the scheme and said the scheme was `unacceptable' to the pensioners. The ad hoc president of the district association, A. Bhaskar Reddy, presided.
