Tejdeep wins title

HYDERABAD, SEPT. 12. A. Tejdeep of All Saints' High School won the title in the senior group (X standard) in the chess tournament conducted jointly by YMCA and Magna Chess Academy here on Sunday. The tournament, a selection trials for the national under-11 and 17 championships to be conducted soon by AICF, attracted about 360 players from all over the state. Students from Hyderabad Public School, St. Andrews, Devnar School for the Blind, Little Flower High School, Visakha Central School and Sri Gujarathi Vidya Mandir won consolation prizes.

The results: Open category: Under - 11: V. Varun (Sadhu Vaswani HS) and V.Chaitanya (Brilliant Grammar HS, Narayanguda). Under-17: P. Praveen Prasad and D. Teja Sri.
