Postpones Kashmir visit

NEW DELHI, SEPT 12. The Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, has postponed his visit to Jammu and Kashmir in view of the October 13 Assembly byelections in the State.

Dr. Singh was scheduled to leave for Jammu and Kashmir on a two-day visit next week before heading for New York for the United Nations General Assembly session. The visit has been postponed since the model code of conduct is in force in the State. — UNI
