NEW DELHI, SEPT. 12. The five-day-old industrial strike in Delhi was called off tonight after an assurance from Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit that the State government would move an affidavit in the Supreme Court seeking extension of time limit for the polluting industries to shift to alternative premises. ``The agitation has been called-off for the time being after the Chief Minister assured to file an affidavit in the Supreme Court. We will chalk out our future course of action after reviewing the stand taken by the Court,'' Secretary of the Delhi Manufacturers Federation Vijay Virmani said. The Delhi Manufacturers Federation -- an umbrella body of 50 industrial associations -- had called for the indefinite industrial strike from September 8 in protest against the Delhi Government's move to close all industrial units in non-conforming areas. -- UNI
