Major power shutdown

BANGALORE, SEPT. 12. Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has announced power shutdown for up to six-and-a-half-hours every day between September 13 and 16 in some parts of the city.

There will be no power between 8.30 a.m. and 3 p.m. from September 13 and 15 at O. M. B. R. Layout, Dodda Banaswadi, Vijaya Bank Colony, Bank Avenue, B. Channasandra, Doctors' Layout, Pilla Reddy Nagar, portion of East of NGEF Layout, Ex-Servicemen's Colony, Lakshmamma Layout, Babusab Palya, Nanjappa Garden, Mallappa Layout, and adjacent areas.

There will be no power from September 14 to 16 between 8.30 a.m. and 3 p.m. in H.B.R. Layout 4th and 5th Blocks, Challakere, Meghjanapalya, Srirampura, Nagawara, Thanisandra, R.K. Hegde Nagar, and K. Narayanapura.

The power shutdown was because of high tension/low tension (LT) re-conducting and LT conversion work being carried out under the Government of India's Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Programme at E8 sub-division, according to a press release from BESCOM.

BTM Layout

In another press release, BESCOM said that to replace 66 kV breakers at the Jayadeva MUSS, power supply will be cut between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesday and between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Wednesday, in the following areas:

BTM Layout 1st and 2nd Stages, J.P. Nagar 3rd Phase, Koramangala, Madiwala, Hulimavu, Bilekahalli, Jayanagar General Hospital, Jayadeva Hospital, Jayanagar 1st to 9th Blocks, MICO Layout, N.S. Palya, Maronahalli, Tankbund area, Shanti Park Apartment, East End Main, Thilak Nagar, Old and New Gorappana Palya, Tavarekere, Chikka Adugodi, Gottigere, Basavanapura, Kambanahalli, Bilasandra, Villasandra, Begur, Kothnur, Kothnur Dinne, Gowrava Nagar, Nrupathunga Nagar, Devarachikkanahalli, Golden Gate Apartments, and Vijaya Bank Colony.
