Free industrial training for SC/ST candidates

MADURAI, SEPT. 12. The State Government will conduct a free industrial training programme through the Tamil Nadu Housing and Development Corporation (THADCO) for the unemployed Adi Dravida and Scheduled Tribe candidates, aged between 18 and 35.

The programme will be conducted in the following centres: the Government Polytechnic for Women: Training in telephone repair for both sexes who have passed Standard X, Computer Hardware training for those who have passed Plus-Two.

M.V.M.S. Company on Madurai-Sivagangai Road: Electrician training for candidates who have passed Standard X, Wireman training for candidates with the qualification of Standard VIII.

Sumathi Sewing Training School, Tirunagar: Training in sewing and cutting for the candidates with the qualification of Standard X.

Tamil Nadu Institute of Hotel Management: Training in food production and beverages for those who have passed Standard X.

Mangalrev Velmurugan I.T.I.: Electrician training for those who have passed Standard X, and electrical technician training for those who have failed.

Lakshmi I.T.I., Vadipatti: Fitter training for those who have passed Standard X and wireman training for those who have failed.

Gemini I.T.I., T. Kalluppatti: Auto electrician, motor rewinding and pump mechanic bench fitter training for those irrespective of their performances in Standard X.

The candidates should present themselves before the selection committee at the office of the Manager, THADCO, Madurai, at 11 a.m. on September 14. They should bring along their community certificate, income certificate, ration card or proof of residence attested by the Tahsildar and academic records, according to an official release.
