. Chain snatched

A youngster snatched away a two tola gold chain from a student, K. Geetharani of Sanathnagar, who was sitting on the window-side seat of A.P.S.R.T.C. bus (Route no. 190K) on Saturday. When the bus halted at the traffic signal post at Gokul theatre in Erragadda around 9.30 a.m, an unidentified youth, who was standing on the divider, snatched the chain and ran away, the Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar police said.

Businessman

threatened

N. Vijayendra (35), a businessman, received an anonymous threatening letter saying he would be shot dead like the pan shop owner, Ramakrishna, who was killed a few weeks ago. Resident of Prashant Apartments on Road No. 12 Banjara Hills, the businessman received the letter on September 10. He was accused of harassing public and warned to mend his ways or face the consequences, the Banjara Hills police said.

Woman polished

off her gold

Two unidentified men took away six tolas of gold ornaments from a businessman's wife in Maruthiveedhi under the limits of Market police station on Saturday. The cheats went to the house of L. Dileep Kumar when his wife was alone and offered to polish her jewellery. Believing their claims, she gave them the jewellery. After putting the ornaments in a cooker, the duo sprinkled some powder on it. When she opened the lid after they left, the ornaments were found missing.

Mechanic held

The Hyderabad police Task Force (Central) team arrested M. Santosh Kumar (21) of Baghlingampally, and seized a sword from his possession on Saturday. A motorcycle mechanic, Kumar was accused of moving around with a sword openly panicking people, a press release said.
