Congress should change style of functioning: CPI(M)

KOLKATA, SEPT. 12. The CPI (M) today warned that if the Congress preferred to follow in the footsteps of the BJP, it would have to face tough criticism.

Maintaining that the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government was following the economic policies pursued by the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), the party's Polit Bureau member and secretary of the West Bengal unit, Anil Biswas, cautioned that the Congress should change its style of functioning or else people would isolate it.

The West Bengal Chief Minister, Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, yesterday warned that the party would withdraw support to the UPA Government if it failed to implement the Common Minimum Programme in letter and spirit. — PTI
