This Day That Age
The Burmese Prime Minister, U Nu, said in Maymyo (Burma) on September 13 that Burma would do her utmost to keep clear of any war. Addressing the annual conference of commanding officers of the Burmese Army, he said Burma's foreign policy was a neutral one with negative and positive aspects. The negative aspect was concerned with Burma's non-participation in any grouping of the power blocs and the positive aspect was demonstrated by the fact that she had endeavoured her utmost to be on the best relations with all countries. Burma was a small country, but however small a country might be its alignment with any power bloc would more or less help increase world tension.
