Letters to the Editor
Sir, Union Minister Jaipal Reddy has said the BJP has no right to talk about `tainted' Ministers in the UPA Government because the NDA also had `tainted' Ministers (Sept. 12). So the logic is two wrongs make a right.
Hilda Raja,
* * * Sir, Mr. Reddy, who once unleashed a torrent of acrimonious words at the Congress, has no moral authority to comment on the BJP. By making a distinction between different types of crimes, he is only admitting that there are `tainted' Ministers at the Centre and justifying their inclusion.
K. Vaidyanathan,
* * * Sir, It suits Mr. Reddy to say that `communal' crimes are more heinous than personal crimes like corruption. The worst communal riots took place in our country when great leaders were at the helm. In a democracy, protests, strikes and bandhs are common. So are mob violence, destruction of property, etc., followed by police intervention, charge sheets, etc. Whether they are heinous crimes or not is a matter of interpretation.
R. Radhakrishna,
Chennai
