Microsoft's touch sensitive mouse

NEW DELHI, SEPT. 13. Renewing its focus on hardware in India and eyeing growth in the segment this fiscal, Microsoft today rolled out a new range of keyboards, stand-alone fingerprint scanner and mouse with a built-in fingerprint scanner as a short cut for passwords, allowing users to log on with the touch of a finger.

As part of its annual product line refresh, Microsoft added the optical desktop with fingerprint reader, wireless intellimouse explorer with fingerprint reader and the fingerprint reader in the price range of Rs. 195 to Rs. 5,000.

The hardware line of biometrics-enabled products with fingerprint recognition technology replaces frequently used passwords with users' fingerprint.

"These products are designed to enhance comfort, offer productivity with enhanced functionality and mobility for the discerning PC user," Microsoft India Manager home and entertainment division, Mohit Anand, told newspersons here.

All new products would be available by this month-end.
