MYSORE, SEPT. 13. One person was killed and another injured when their motorcycles collided this morning on Lalitha Mahal Road. According to the police, Nagaraju (34), a resident of Hebbal and a civil contractor, died while being taken to K.R. Hospital after he sustained severe head injuries in the accident. Anand (30), a resident of Lalithadripura, has been admitted to the hospital with head injuries. The police said that Nagaraju was using his mobile phone while riding. The Lashkar police have registered a case.
Run over
A 12-year-old boy was killed when he was run over by a speeding car near Teresian College here on Sunday. According to the police, Bharathesh was run over by the car when he was trying to cross the road to board a bus. The police said that the boy and his parents were going shopping when the incident occurred. The police said that the driver of the car abandoned his vehicle and ran away. The Lashkar police have registered a case and are investigating.
Sentenced
The First Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate here has sentenced two persons to 15 months' simple imprisonment for stealing self-starters from automobiles. The judge, Suresh K. Ontigodi, sentenced Robert and Suresh after charges of theft of self-starters were proved against them. The K.R. police had registered a case of theft of self-starters worth Rs. 66,000 from vehicles parked on the Mysore City Corporation premises on December 7, 1999.
