Easy for G.K. Motor Finance Club

TIRUNELVELI, SEPT.13. Three goals by Swamy A.G. Kannan and one goal each by Nippleraj and Mahia John Paul helped G.K.Motor Finance Club, Madurai trounce City Police, Chennai 5-0 and enter the semi-finals of the State level hockey tournament here on Monday.

In the other two quarter-finals played, host Mathew's Hockey Club and Jothi Sports Club beat Tirunelveli Range Police and Philips Hockey Club, Koilpatti respectively by identical margins of 2-0.

For Mathew's Club D.Franklin and Venkatesh scored and for Jothi Sports Club, Nambi Barathi scored both the goals.

The team to make the last four grade was Rajiv Gandhi Hockey Club, Kovilpatti, as its opponent Armed Police, Chennai did not turn up.
