Karnataka edges past Kerala
UDHAGAMANDALAM,
SEPT. 13.
Karnataka boys managed to get the better of Kerala 3-2 in the 27th sub-junior National football championship South Zone qualifying round at the HADP Open Air stadium here today.
D. Venkatesh opened the account for the winner in the 38th minute of the first half. Sudan Kumar increased the tally in the 54th minute.
The Kerala boys finally succeeded in sounding the board for the first time in the match through Julian Paulose in the 60th minute.
Even as Kerala was pressing hard for the equaliser, Arokiya Raj Kenneth of Karnataka scored a gem of goal in the 77th minute. Nevertheless, Nautal managed to squeeze one home for Kerala in the 79th minute, but the recovery came a little too late.
