Rubber traders' demand

KOCHI, SEPT. 13. The Cochin Rubber Merchants' Association has appealed to the Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, to intervene and prevail upon the Union Government to provide export subsidy and at the same time for the State to provide a subsidy of Rs. 2 a kg of natural rubber exports to prevent a further crash in the price of the commodity.

A memorandum to the Chief Minister said, "Growers have become panicky and in their interest it is absolutely essential for the State Government to announce remedial measures."
