CUDDAPAH, SEPT. 13. Members of the AP Electricity Employees Union staged a lunch-hour demonstrations before the offices of the Discom Superintendent Engineer (Vidyut Bhavan) and SE of Transmission Lines and Sub-Stations here on Monday as part of their second-phase of agitation. The union's State president, M.V. Ramana, the deputy general secretary, Jilani Basha, the regional secretary, K. Prabhudas, the additional secretary, K. Bala Barasimhulu, the regional secretary, K. Markandeya, and the regional treasurer, M.K. Dhanunjayan, demanded appointment of contract and casual labourers, typists, computer operators, and workers of revenue billing and collection agencies in existing vacancies and payment of minimum wages to them through the department.
More demands
They also demanded restoration of medical invalidation scheme, filling of direct recruit junior accounts officer posts with departmental upper division clerks, bonus to all the employees without salary ceiling, doubling of credit cards for medical treatment from Rs. 1 lakh, payment of full salary to workers in accident cases and treating the leave as treatment period.
