By Our Staff Reporter

CUDDAPAH, SEPT. 13. The Backward Classes Corporation in Cuddapah district topped the State in loan recovery by achieving 80 per cent of the target, its Executive Director, R. Hariprakash, said on Monday.

Cuddapah district set a record by achieving 100 per cent bank loan disbursement to groups, he said. The corporation disbursed loans initially and later arranged financing by banks.

Training for directors

Mr. Hariprakash addressed the corporation's Executive Directors -- A. Balakondaiah (Kurnool), K. Navaneetham (Mahabubnagar), K. Narayana Reddy (Warangal) and P. Jagat Kumar Reddy (Khammam) -- who were deputed to undergo training in Cuddapah district in the BC Corporation office here today.

The Executive Directors are being trained on their duties and ways to establish rapport with beneficiaries and the public.

Dhobi ghats built

The district also fared well in implementation of washermen's welfare scheme, micro-financing and supplying modern tool kits, he added. As many as 360 dhobighats were built at the rate of one for every two panchayats, under the Food-for-work scheme.

The set targets were being met in coordination with the DRDA, STEP and banks, he added.
