KOCHI, SEPT 13. The third Asia-Pacific Neuroscience School was inaugurated at the Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) here today. The former Vice-Chancellor of Cochin University, K. Babu Joseph, inaugurated the School. A faculty member of the University of New South Wales, Australia, Elspeth McLachlan, presided over the inaugural meeting. Pankaj Sha of the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Director of the Centre for Neuroscience, Cochin University, C.S. Paulose, and senior research fellow of the Centre, S. Balarama Kaimal, spoke on the occasion.
The Asia-Pacific Regional Committee (APRC) of the International Brain Research Organisation (IBRO) will support the School. The objective of the School is to introduce modern concepts of research in neuroscience to graduate students, engineers and all those who are interested in research. The School will help talented students attend the main IBRO neuroscience schools in different parts of the Asia-Pacific region.
Seminars
It will conduct lectures, seminars and interactive tutorials. Experts in the field will give lectures and tutorials in select areas of neuroscience.
