HYDERABAD, SEPT. 13. T.Ch. Surya Rao, a judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court, on Monday stayed further proceedings in a criminal case initiated against K. Chandrasekhar Rao, president of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), in a city court. Prahlad, an advocate, filed a case alleging that the TRS chief received money from him in the name of giving party ticket for the Assembly election but did not return the amount when ticket was not given. A petition was filed by Mr. Rao in the High Court seeking direction to quash the case. The arguments were completed and judgment was reserved. The case in the Criminal Court is coming up for hearing before the Magistrate concerned on September 15. Mr. Justice Surya Rao was requested to grant stay in view of the situation. The judge stayed further proceedings till September 16. When a specific mention was made regarding the order of the trial court directing Mr. Rao to appear in person, it was made clear that appropriate petition to dispense with the personal appearance could be moved on a given day.
