By Our Staff Reporter
KURNOOL, SEPT. 13. The Telugu Ganga distributary breached at 30 km. between Velugodu and Mahanandi in Kurnool district resulting in flooding of Nandipalli and canal water entering the SC colony. The flow in Chamakalva at Nandyal too rose suddenly inundating huts in low-lying areas. Officials swung into action to regulate flow to the canal. CUDDAPAH: The Narayanareddy tank at Saraswathipalle in Ramapuram mandal, which received water inflow after a gap of seven years, breached on Sunday night leading to wasteful discharge of the impounded water. The ayacutdars tried to temporarily plug the breach by placing stones, mud and shrubs, but could not arrest the rapid seepage.
