NIZAMABAD, SEPT. 13. The former Minister and Telugu Desam Party senior leader, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, has announced that his party will launch an agitation for the release of water from the Singur project to cater to the drinking water needs in the district. Replying to a question at a press conference at Borlam village in Banswada mandal on Monday, he said his party wanted to observe the functioning of the Congress Government and its follies with utmost restraint for some time. He said 120 days had passed since the Congress came to power, but most of its promises made to the people before the elections remained to be fulfilled still. The increase of pensionary amount to the widows, aged and weaker sections and extension of bank loans to Self-Help Group women at three per cent interest were yet to be carried out, he pointed out. Predicting the fall of the Congress Government at the Centre before the completion of its term, he said the Government in the State though was stable it could not implement its promises.
