Cloudy sky forecast

Generally cloudy sky is predicted in the city on Tuesday. The city recorded a maximum temperature of 31.7 degrees Celsius on Monday, minimum temperature of 21 degrees Celsius and humidity was 60 per cent.

HUDA caution

The Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HUDA) has cautioned the public against purchasing or constructing any house in the layouts of survey No. 91 at Gachibowli and survey No. 32 of Guttala Begumpet village where valid permissions have not been obtained from Serilingampally municipality and CDA authorities, according to a press release.

Olympiad for

CBSE schools

Harvard Public School will be conducting the VII annual inter-school Mathematics Olympiad for CBSE schools in the twin cities at its school premises on September 19.

The competition will be held in three categories -- sub-juniors (classes V and VI), Juniors (classes VII and VIII) and seniors (classes IX and X). Rythu Bazar

The Model Rythu Bazar, Erragadda, will function on September 17 and remain closed on September 18 on the eve of Vinayka festival, according to a press release.

Talent hunt

Viswa Sai, a cultural organisation, in collaboration with the City Central Library, is conducting a talent-spotting contest for children under junior category (below 10 years) and senior category (10-16 years) in light music and painting. The contest will be on the subject of Lord Vigneshwara. The singing and painting contests will be held at the City Central Library, Chikadpally, on September 17. Post-matric

scholarships

The last date for submission of fresh applications for post-matric scholarships is September 30 for the academic year 2004-05. After expiry of the deadline, fresh applications will not be entertained under any circumstances, according to an official press release.

Elected

D. Vittal Rao is elected president and P.V. Raj vice president of the Greater Hyderabad Ayurved Sammelan at the general body meeting of the Sammelan held here. Other office bearers elected are: V. Anantashayana Chari (general secretary), A. Komaraiah (treasurer). A 10-member executive body was also elected.
