Light rain

likely today

The sky will be partly cloudy on Tuesday. There could a spell of light rain in some areas, according to the weather forecast. On Monday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 28.9 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 19.4 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity was 70 per cent. The airport recorded maximum temperature of 28 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature recorded was 18.5 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity was 63 per cent.

Governor

at book fair

The Governor, T. N. Chaturvedi, was one of the 20,000 visitors to the Bangalore Book Festival on Monday. A host of competitions, including "just-a-minute speech" and painting competition were organised on Monday. N. Laxminarayana Bhat, poet, gave a lecture on "Book culture" in the evening. There was also a skit by Sutradharaka Hasyotpadakaru.

Power cut

There will be no power supply in Ramagondanahalli, Siddapura, Varthur, Kodi, and Whitefield limits between 10. 30 a.m. to 5.30 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday. Also there will be power shutdown between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Wednesday in Challaghatta, K.R. Garden, Vinayakanagar, Domlur, Nagasandra, NAL Road, Murugesh Palya, ISRO Layout, parts of Airport Road, and Muniswarappa Layout.

Free legal aid

The Alternative Law Forum will provide free legal services to the disabled persons on every Wednesday at the office of the Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities. Interested persons may call 5482639.

Workshop

The Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers Association (IMTMA) will hold a two-day workshop on "Calibration of dimensional measuring equipment and fundamentals s of machine tool calibration" on September 23 and 24 in the city. Interested persons may call 25594621 on or before September 17.
