`Web cast' of Tirumala Brahmotsavam

By Our Staff Reporter

TIRUPATI, SEPT. 14. The Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is all set for live telecast of the nine-day annual Brahmotsavam of Lord Venkateswara, starting from September 16. The TTD is gearing itself for the "web cast" of the daily processions of the Lord during the festival. Thus, millions of devotees all over the world can witness the colourful festival at the click of the mouse.

The TTD Executive Officer, Ajeya Kallam, told The Hindu that the "web casting" was being jointly organised by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and Doordarshan. Devotees could opt for the NIC or the TTD website. The TTD has set up a giant digital screen on the sprawling vacant site in front of the temple complex on which the processions will be shown. Live telecast will be done at the massive queue complexes also.
