BCCI workshop concludes
CHENNAI,
SEPT. 14.
The two-day BCCI workshop and seminar for South Zone umpires concluded at the Chidambaram Stadium on Tuesday, with sports psychologist B.P. Bam and physiotherapist Dr. Kinjal Suratwala talking on the importance of concentration, focus and will power.
International umpire A.V. Jayaprakash, who is on the seven-man faculty, which will next conduct a similar seminar for the East-West zones in Mumbai on September 16 and 17, said that the quality of umpiring was certain to improve "by at least 30 to 40 per cent in the coming season." "This is the first time we've had a psychologist and a physiotherapist speaking at an umpires' seminar. It has been an eye-opener for many," said the former Karnataka cricketer.
