Kuwait remains unbeaten
HYDERABAD,
SEPT. 14.
Kuwait, the defending champion, was the only team to remain unbeaten in the five matches it played in the preliminary league phase of the ninth Asian handball championship for junior men at the Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy Indoor Stadium (Yousufguda).
It will take on Iran in the second semifinal to be played on Wednesday.
Korea, which recorded four straight wins, will meet Japan in the first semifinal.
Host India finished just above Bangladesh with a solitary win and a draw against Oman in the five matches it played.
India takes on China in the play-off match for the ninth place on Thursday.
Late on Monday night, Kuwait struggled to beat India 27-24 while UAE scored a 34-28 win against China.
