KOLAR, SEPT. 14. Lobbying is on for the posts of President and Vice-President of the Kolar City Municipal Council, elections for which will be held on Thursday. The State Government has reserved the post of President for the BCM `B' group and that of Vice-President for a woman from the general category. Three candidates are in the race for the post of President and two for the post of Vice-President. With all the Janata Dal councillors joining the Congress along with their leader, K. Srinivasa Gowda, Agriculture Minister, before the Assembly elections, there is no opposition in the CMC. C. Raghuram, Gemini Chennaveeraiah and Venkataraju are in the race for the post of President. T.V Bharathi and Prema Bai are in the race for the post of Vice-President. The leaders of the district unit of the Congress, K.H. Muniyappa, Union Minister, and Mr. Srinivasa Gowda have reportedly asked the councillors to be present at the Gajaladinne Forest Guesthouse on Thursday where the candidates for the two posts will be chosen.
