Spice announces new tariff

BANGALORE, SEPT. 14. Spice Telecom on Monday announced a new reduced tariff plan for its "Uth", "Freedom 99" and "Freedom 200" subscribers in the State.

Subscribers on the "Uth" tariff plan can now make mobile-to-mobile calls at 99 paise a minute, and to other numbers at Rs. 1.99 a minute. Between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m., calls to any numbers in the same city can be made at 99 paise a minute.

The subscriber will get 50 free local SMS after which each message is charged at 50 paise and national SMS at Rs. 2 a message. Long distance mobile-to-mobile calls under the new tariff plan for "Uth" subscribers will be charged at Rs. 2.50 a minute. For mobile to other phones, the long distance charges vary from Rs. 2.99 to Rs. 3.25 a minute.

"Freedom 99" and "Freedom 200" subscribers can now make mobile-to-mobile calls at Re. 1 a minute and mobile to other numbers at Rs. 2.25 a minute. STD calls to destinations within 50 to 200 km will cost Rs. 1.99 (mobile-to-mobile) and Rs. 2.99 (mobile to others). Between 200 and 500 km, long distance calls from mobile-to-mobile will cost Rs. 2.99 and calls from mobile to other numbers will be charged at Rs. 3.99 a minute.

For long distance calls to destinations more than 500 km, customers will have to pay Rs. 2.99 (mobile-to-mobile) and Rs. 4.99 for calls made to other numbers.

The monthly rental for "Freedom 99" is Rs. 99 with an initial talk time of Rs. 250. "Freedom 200" subscribers will be charged a monthly rental of Rs. 200, according to a press release.
