Karnataka to participate in Cauvery Tribunal proceedings

BANGALORE, SEPT. 14. Karnataka that has sought the reconstitution of the Cauvery Waters Dispute Tribunal and approached the Supreme Court, will, however, participate in the proceedings of the panel set up 14 years ago.

The State is prepared to welcome the two members of the tribunal who wish to visit the State as also the other Cauvery Basin States to study the ground situation.

The stand of the State on the matter was made clear here today by the Minister for Water Resources, M. Mallikarjun Kharge.

Mr. Kharge said the tribunal was going to hold its next sitting on September 27 in New Delhi and the State would take part in it.
