Fete a click away

By Our Special Correspondent

TIRUPATI, SEPT. 14. Here is good news for `netizens'. The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) would be making available the video footage on the nine-day `Brahmothsavam' on the World Wide Web (WWW) in collaboration with the Doordarshan.

According to the TTD's Executive Officer, Ajeya Kallam, the idea was to reach out to the devotees of the Lord all over the world.

He said the annual fete, to be telecast live by the DD, would be uplinked to the website of National Informatics Centre (NIC) which could be accessed by net-savvy devotees at the click of the mouse. As yet another application of the digital technology for the benefit of pilgrims, the TTD would be installing a giant digital screen each at vantage points around the four mada streets of the temple complex.
