NELLORE, SEPT.14. Miscreants gained entry into a posh house at Padarupalli on the outskirts of Nellore town, beat up the occupants and made good their escape after taking away ornaments and precious stones costing about Rs. 20 lakhs on Tuesday. According to the Superintendent of Police, B. Sivadhar Reddy, the house belonged to Mr. Gangadhar, proprietor of M.G. Brothers, automobile dealers. He however was said to be away from Nellore.
Power supply snapped
Before entering the house, five miscreants snapped power supply to the solar fencing of the house. While attempting to gain entry, they had a scuffle with the watchman and a helper. Later, they successfully broke open the main door with the help of a crowbar and other instruments. Thereafter, they went inside the house where three inmates were sleeping and on their protest, assaulted them. They then searched the area and escaped with the booty. The intruders spoke in Hindi. While coming out they were noticed by a worker who was also injured by them. All the injured have been admitted in hospital. The DSP, D. Narasimha Reddy, said that a dog squad and CLUES team visited the place and search parties had been sent to nab the culprits. A complaint has been lodged with the police.
