BYS State meet ends

KOLLAM, SEPT. 14. The three day State conference of the Bharatiya Yukthivadi Sangham (BYS) which concluded here on Monday has called upon State and Central Governments to declare more benefits for inter-caste marriages in order to further promote the spirit of secularism as enshrined in the Constitution.

The resolution wanted that authorities of a secular Government should avoid participating in religious functions. The conference elected the new-office bearers of the BYS. They are K.K. Abdul Ali, president, C.K. Oommen, working president, Sreeni Pattathanam, general secretary, Johnson Airoor, T. Parameshwaran, Ramesh Kumar, Sethu Mohammed Anakayam and Ravi Moovattupuzha, vice-presidents, Casteless Junior, Bhaskaran Pekkadam, M.T. Rishikumar, C.A. Mani Pezhakkapilli, Suresh George and Jacob Lazar, secretaries, and Seemas Santosh, treasurer.
