Plantation strike: Chandy urged to intervene

KOTTAYAM, SEPT. 14. The Joint Action Council, which spearheads the plantation strike that has entered the second day today, has called upon the Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, to intervene in the matter.

In a statement here today, C.A. Kurian, State president of the AITUC and Vazhoor Soman, convener of the council, said that in the light of the failure of the managements to participate in the talks called by the Labour Minister on Monday, the Chief Minister himself should now intervene in the matter.
