Competition for children

NEW DELHI SEPT. 14. Tarun Mitra Parishad will organise a song and dance competition on the eve of Dashlakshan Mahaparva of Jains on September 18 at Shri Parshvanath Digamber Jain Mandir in Laxmi Nagar in East Delhi. The Delhi Mayor, A.R. Verma, will inaugurate the competition.

A large number of children are expected to participate in the competition and sing religious songs and perform dances. The Delhi Finance and Rural Development Minister, A.K. Walia, will also present gifts and certificates to meritorious students.

Vinayaka Chaviti celebrations

NEW DELHI SEPT. 14. Noida Telugu Welfare Association will celebrate `Vinayaka Chaviti' at the Community Hall in Sector 33, Noida, on September 19. The Vinakaya Chaviti pooja is scheduled to commence at 4-30 p.m. and will end at 6-30 p.m. The NTWA will also conduct some other cultural activities on the occasion.

All for an idea

NEW DELHI SEPT. 14. Idea Cellular Ltd. has launched a contest for its subscribers where participants will be given an opportunity to present their perspective on the one big idea which they think can change the world. Idea has collaborated with Discovery Channel for the contest. Idea subscribers can participate by sending SMS to 7849. The contest will remain open till September 30. Discovery will also play host to the Idea Cellular sponsored 13-part series between October and December 2004.
