KARIMNAGAR, SEPT. 14. An official team comprising four district Collectors and Labour Department officials of Madhya Pradesh visited Karimnagar on Tuesday to study the implementation of child labour projects in the district. The Collectors and district magistrates -- Anupam Rajan (Kotni district), Umakanth Umrao (Satna), Sandeep Saxena (Damoh) and Rajnikanth Guptha (Jabalpur district), the Labour Department Deputy Secretary of Bhopal, Neeraj Dubey, the Deputy Labour Commissioner of Indore, Prabhat Dubey, the Assistant Labour Commissioner of Satna, J.S. Uday, the Assistant Labour Commissioner of Jabalpur, G.C. Nath, and others visited the Dharoor Residential Bridge Course (RBC) and the Jagtial RBC schools and interacted with the rehabilitated child labourers. Expressing satisfaction over implementation of the child labour project in the district, the Collectors said that they would implement the same in five districts of their State. The official team was inspired by the success of the rehabilitated child labourers in SSC and seventh class examinations.
Administration's efforts
Later in the evening, the team met the Collector, C. Parthasarathi, who explained it about the district administration's crusade for the eradication of child labour. During the last three years the administration enrolled 72,000 children in schools by involving officials, NGOs and people's representatives.
