Naval PS, Bhavan's Vidya Mandir triumph

KOCHI, SEPT. 14. The Naval Public School boys and host Bhavan's Vidya Mandir girls (Elamakkara) won the 12th Bhavan's CBSE inter-school basketball tournament which concluded here on Tuesday.

Naval defeated The Choice School (Tripunithura) 42-30 in the boys' section.

The girls' defending champion Bhavan's comfortably beat St. Peter's (Kadayiruppu) 32-11 in the other final.

Cherian Peter, president of the Rotary Club (Cochin East), gave away the prizes.

The results (finals):

Boys: Naval PS, Willingdon Island 42 (Varun 16) bt Choice, Tripunithura 30 (Ijaz 12); Best player: Varun Mathur (Naval PS).

Girls: BVM, Elamakkara 32 bt St. Peter's, Kadayiruppu 11; Best player: J. Gayatri (Elamakkara BVM). — Our Principal Correspondent
