Lissa puts GV HSS in semifinals

ALUVA, SEPT. 14. The consistent Lissa Rani carried GV HSS (Villadom, Thrissur) to the girls' semifinals of the first Carmel all-Kerala inter-school basketball tournament at the Carmel floodlit stadium here on Tuesday evening.

The Villadom school defeated G.V. Raja School (Thiruvananthapuram) 41-29 in the quarterfinal.

The results: Girls quarterfinals: GV HSS, Villadom 41 (Lissa Rani 24, Varsha Varghese 12) bt G.V. Raja School, Thiruvananthapuram 29 (P.V. Remya 17).

Monday's results:

Boys pre-quarterfinals: St. Ephreme's HSS, Mannanam 50 (Nirmal K. Mathews 17, Tinsi Varghese 10) bt Government Model HSS, Kozhikode 49 (Vimal P. Jaison 16, Abin Thomas 12); Cherupushpa, Chandanakampara 68 (Saji Mathew 22, K.R. Nikhil 21) bt Girideepam School, Kottayam 38 (Nikhil Idicula 15, Raighu Uthup 15).
