MANGALORE, SEPT. 14. The apolitical cooperative group led by Kaup Diwakar Shetty has won the elections held here on Tuesday to the board of the Dakshina Kannada Milk Union. The Diwakar Shetty group consists of A. Jagadish Kamath, Kenchanur Somashekar Shetty, N. Manjaiah Shetty Sabaladi, Raviraj Hegde, D. Goplakrishna Kamath, N. Krishna Shetty, B. Niranjana, Prema Vasanth, B. Radhakrishna Rai, B. Vidyadhar hegde and Maji Rambhat. The group has bagged seven positions in Udupi and four of the five positions from Dakshina Kannada district. The group secured 198 votes out of the 204 polled. Mr. Diwakar Shetty got 198 votes. Mr. Diwakar Shetty told The Hindu that before the elections his was the only group that had decided to have an apolitical arrangement. The elections for the president's post would be held sometime later, he said.
