Woman constable commits suicide
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD,
SEPT. 14.
A woman constable of the Rapid Action Force (RAF), Padmaja (30), allegedly committed suicide by hanging in her quarter at Hakimpet Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Group Centre last night.
Based on the complaint of her father, Nageswara Rao, that her husband, Appa Rao, had allegedly been harassing her for quite some time, the Alwal police registered a case under section 498-A (subjecting woman to cruelty) and 306 (abetment to suicide) of the IPC against the latter.
The couple had reportedly quarrelled last night. Around 8.30 p.m., Appa Rao went inside the bedroom. He came out an hour later only to see Padmaja's body hanging. Though the victim left no note, it was apparently a suicide, the Alwal Inspector, K. Dronacharyulu, said.
