Water supply

disrupted

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, SEPT. 14. Water supply to many areas in Pattom and Kesavadasapuram was disrupted since Monday morning on account of an `air-block' in the main pipeline ferrying water from the Peroorkada reservoir. Water supply to these areas was yet to return to normal even late on Tuesday night.

Lok Ayukta order

The Lok Ayukta has directed the Electric Section Assistant Engineer, Pettah, to appear in person before the court on October 4 for having violated its recommendation in a case pertaining to the installation of electronic meters. The court has also asked the KSEB's standing counsel to issue directions to the Board's lower echelons not to violate the interim orders of the court in this regard.

Elocution contest

As part of its steps to promote Voluntary Blood Donation, Terumo Penpol Limited in association with All Kerala Blood Donors Society is planning to organise an elocution competition on `Community service through blood donation' for college students in English and Malayalam, according to a press release. The competition will be conducted at 3 p.m. on September 27 at Hotel South Park. Those who wish to participate may contact the public relations officer, Terumo Penpol Limited, Sasthamangalam (phone nos.2725357 or 98474 22400) on or before September 25.
