Another cloudy day ahead
The maximum temperatures recorded at Safdarjung and Palam were 37.4 and 38.2 degree Celsius, while the minimum was 27.4 and 27.8 degree Celsius. The maximum and minimum humidity recorded at Safdarjung was 77 and 40 per cent, while at Palam it was 70 and 37 per cent.
Eight hurt in RTV fire
According to the police, the RTV vehicle, plying on route 122 from Jehangirpuri to Mori Gate, caught fire near Laxmi dairy in Mukherjee Nagar around 3 p.m. Eight passengers sustained minor injuries and were taken to Bara Hindu Rao Hospital from where they were discharged after first aid. Preliminary investigations revealed that a leaking cylinder had caused the fire. Mukherjee Nagar police have registered a case of causing injury due to negligent and are looking for the driver and the cleaner of the vehicle who fled from the scene following the incident.

Conductor awarded
The Corporation spokesperson said the conductor, Shyam Sunder, had found the suitcase lying unattended on a bus plying on Route No. 34 between Noida Sector 32 and Mehrauli. As on making enquiries from the passengers he could not trace the owner, he took custody of the bag and deposited it with the Noida Depot authorities. Though no one has so far come to claim the bag, the conductor was rewarded with Rs 500 cash prize by the DTC authorities.
Touts held
During the course of the drive, aimed at ridding the airport of unwanted persons, the CISF personnel also caught two trolley touts who were engaged in cheating. Both the accused were handed over to the IGI Police for further action. The drive also included checking wrongly parked vehicles and as many as 13 of them were prosecuted. While eight vehicles owners were fined by the traffic police, the others were fined by the Airport Manager. Also, during the day 23 bags were found lying unattended by the CISF staff and in three cases the Bomb Disposal and Detection Squad was summoned to ensure that they did not contain any dangerous substances. While six of them were restored to their owners, 13 were deposited with the Airport Manager.
