NEW DELHI, SEPT. 14. Two persons, including a 19-year-old girl, allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves in their homes in separate incidents in the Capital since Monday evening. A 30-year-old graphic designer working with The Times of India was found hanging in his rented accommodation at Patparganj in East Delhi on Monday evening. The police said Sujeet, who lived alone in his rented accommodation at Ram Krishan Vihar in Patparganj, had not been attending office for the past three days. On Monday, three of his colleagues decided to visit him. They reached his flat around 6 p.m. and knocked on the door which was locked from inside. However, as there was no response they decided to call a duplicate key maker. But the man failed to come up with a duplicate key following which they broke into the house only to find Sujeet's body hanging from the ceiling with a rope. No suicide note was recovered from the spot. Further investigations are on to ascertain the reason behind the incident. At Kalkaji in South Delhi, an engineering student allegedly committed suicide this afternoon. She left behind two suicide notes -- in one was scribbled a Hindi song and the other said her grandmother was beckoning her. The police said Divya Jaiswal, a resident of pocket-12, Kalkaji, lived with her mother, who was employed in a private firm at New Friends Colony. Her father was based in Kenya. Today, around 3 p.m., Divya asked her maid to fetch something from one of the rooms. As she went in, Divya locked her from outside and then went into another room and hanged herself from the ceiling with the help of her chunni. After sometime, Divya's uncle from the maternal side, who was getting his child treated at Apollo Hospital, happened to come there. When he knocked at the door, the maid told him that her room had been locked from outside. He managed to get into the house somehow and brought the maid out. Then he broke into his niece's room and found her body hanging from the ceiling. Divya's mother told the police that she had attempted to take her life earlier but was saved in the nick of time. However, the reasons behind her taking the extreme step were yet to be ascertained. Further investigations in the case are on.
