Diamond jewellery exhibition

By Our Special Correspondent

CHANDIGARH, SEPT.15. Aastha, an international diamond jewellery brand with operations spread over 22 countries, is going to hold an exhibition at the Hotel Mount View here and showcase its entire range of "sparkling, beautiful, brilliant and latest designs.''

Addressing a press conference here this afternoon, Ashok Jain, Managing Director of Aastha, said that the city residents would be offered a special seven per cent discount on the diamond jewellery. He said that Chandigarhians would now be able to pick international brand jewels at an affordable price.

"We aim to change the way diamond jewellery is perceived in India, as we think that fashion is for all, not an asset of a few privileged ones, as we provide international quality jewels at Indian price'', he claimed.

Claiming a remarkable success in the overseas market, he said that the unique selling point was to redefine the way jewellery was sold in India by bringing in transparency with its completely open jewellery- making process. Mr. Jain, a Ph.D in Economics from Tokyo University, heads the International League of Companies, a group with a world-wide network. He set up `Aastha' in Delhi earlier this year. Encouraged by its overwhelming response, he plans to set up a national network of outlets including one in Chandigarh and the other in Ludhiana.
