Congress rebuts Paritala's charges

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, SEPT. 15. The Congress Legislature Party has lashed out at the Telugu Desam MLA, Paritala Ravi, for accusing the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy's son Y. Jaganmohan Reddy, of involvement in factional killings in Anantapur district.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, the CLP members -- D.L. Ravindra Reddy, Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu, Mandali Buddha Prasad and others challenged the TDP MLA to prove his allegations against Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy.

Counter-attack

Accusing the TDP leader of resorting to mud-slinging to derive cheap political mileage, the Congress legislators accused Mr. Paritala of unleashing terror in Anantapur district during the last nine years.

They said his statement Mr. Jaganmohan Redy had links with the Jana Rakshana Samiti (JRS), which allegedly was eliminating TDP leaders, was a `wild allegation' aimed at defaming the Chief Minister and his family members for "narrow political gains.''
