Court directive on compensation

HYDERABAD,
SEPT. 15.
A Judge of the High Court, E. Dharma Rao, in a recent judgment, deprecated the attitude of judicial officers in awarding large amounts as compensation to persons who have not suffered major injuries in accidents.
He was dealing with an insurance firm's appeal against awarding Rs. 1 lakh compensatin by a Judge in Nizamabad to a person who sustained fractures near Bhainsa. He reduced the amount to Rs. 20,000.
